Biography

Mr. Peter N. Njuguna is an Assistant Lecturer in the School of Pure and applied Science, Department of Computer Science and Informatics at Karatina University where he has been a faculty member since 2014. Peter is currently pursuing his PhD in IT at Durban University of Technology, S.A. He completed his undergraduate degree in IT at Kenyatta University and Master Degree in Computer Science at the University of Nairobi. His research Interest lies in AI, and specifically in computer vision and object recognition. Peter also has interest in cyber security.
He was the Director of ICT at the University from 2014 to 2020. Prior to the current academic work, Mr. Njuguna worked as an ICT Expert, Manager and Consultant in various Industries for over twenty years. Some of the industries he worked in are Financial/Banking and manufacturing. Peter has served as member of various university organs and committees including the Senate, the Deans Committee, University extended management committee, curriculum development/review committees, several tender evaluation committees and others. Peter has taught various undergraduate courses including Data Structures and algorithms, Computer Security and Cryptography, Multimedia Systems, Expert Systems, Network Security, Client Server Computing, Object Oriented Analysis and Design and Several others.
