Biography

Mr Joseph Gikonyo Kuria is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, Statistics & Actuarial Science in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences of Karatina  University where he has served as a faculty member since 2013. He specializes in Design of Experiments, Estimation, Operations Research, Time series analysis as well as Teaching Methods in Mathameticsis.he has served as te School time table and examinations coordinator and the departments ISO champion. Joseph Kuria is a PhD student at Moi University, Kenya studying Biostatistics with a thesis on Optimal Simplex Third Order Rotatable Designs With an Application to Food Microbiology. Joseph completed his Masters degree in Statistics at Kenyatta University, Kenya after completing his Postgraduate diploma in Education at Kenyatta University and His undergraduate studies at Nairobi University, Kenya.

Joseph has special interest in design of experiments in food microbiology related studies for food safety as well as public health and educational research. Consequently Joseph has participated in workshops on spatial data analysis and data mining and look forward to intense research on public health initiatives. Currently Joseph is working on a proposal on Sustainable Development Goal 6 as a research scholar with Leaders of Africa Institute. He is passionate about students and youth affairs and actively participates in student’s mentorship and Counselling. Other areas of training include  auditing of Quality Management Systems and Leadership.
