Biography

Dr Jeremiah Kebwaro holds a PhD in Nuclear Science and Technology from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, MSc in Physics (Radiation Physics) from Kenyatta University. He is currently a Senior in Physics in the School of Pure and applied Sciences at Karatina University. His research interests lie in Radiation Protection, Front and back end nuclear fuel cycle, Reactor Physics and application of nuclear techniques in Mineral prospecting.  Dr Kebwaro also serves as The National Project Counterpart for IAEA Sponsored Technical Cooperation Regional Project RAF 2014: “Enhancing Regional Capabilities for Sustainable Uranium Exploration and Mining.  Dr Kebwaro is also a member two technical project teams at the Kenya Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA). Dr Kebwaro has served as a consultant in the EU-Funded project MC 5.01 15B Support to Southern African States in Nuclear Safety and Safeguards.  From 2012-2015, He was a member of the Daya Bay reactor antineutrino collaboration that was studying the oscillation of antineutrinos released from two Nuclear reactors in south China. Dr Kebwaro is an accomplished researcher and a mentor to many. He has published several articles in reputable nuclear science and Physics journals like, Nuclear Engineering and Design, Progress in nuclear energy, Radiation Protection dosimetry, Applied radiation and Isotopes Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A &B, Physical Review among others. Dr Kebwaro has also acquired administrative and leadership experience through participation in committees and organs responsible for policy formulation and high level decision Making in the University. He is among few Kenyan University Managers who have attended the Biannual International Deans Course Sponsored by DAAD, Centre for Higher Education and the University of Osnabruck
