Dr. Josphat Kagema is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and Social Sciences, Department of Education at Karatina University where he has been a faculty member since 2011. He specializes in teaching Curriculum Studies. Dr. Kagema completed his Ph.D. at Moi University (2014), Masters in Curriculum Studies at Kenyatta University (2006) and his undergraduate studies in Bachelor of Education(Arts) specializing in English &Literature at Maseno University College in 1999. His research interests lie in exploring the interface of Curriculum Theory and Teacher Education. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of environmental science and management.
Part of his wider research focus is nexus of education and global dynamics in the wake of climate change and attendants impacts of access, quality and relevance and in light of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Kagema has served in several local and international conference committees in the realm of Karatina University. Moreover, he has participated by way of presenting peer-reviewed scholarly conference papers. He is also widely published in refereed journals. At the university level, he has served as a vibrant member of various university committees, including coordinating outreach activities for Karatina University from 2015-2023 thus providing leadership and service to impactful activities that have contributed to position the university globally. At community level, Dr. Kagema is an agent of social transformation, purposing to inspire generations.
