Biography

Dr. Joseph Muchiri is a Senior Lecturer of finance and the chair of postgraduate committee in the dept. of Business and Economic at Karatina University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration-Finance option from JKUAT, an MBA in Finance from University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Double Mathematics from Moi University. Dr. Muchiri is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA(K)), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and a registered tax agent by Kenya Revenue Authority. He is also a consultant in finance and accounting matters as well as a member of Taxation & Economics panel of trainers at ICPAK.

Dr Muchiri has supervised postgraduate students to completion as well as examined (internally and externally) postgraduate theses. He has also been an examiner and team leader with Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (ICPAR). He has also been a facilitator in many conferences and workshops organized by ICPAK and Institute of Capacity Development (ICAD) of KCA, and served as a board member of Murang’a Level 5 hospital. Prior to joining Karatina University, he lectured finance and accounting courses at several Universities at different times including KCA, JKUAT, KEMU, ILU and UoN.
