Mr. Peter Waweru is a Computer Technologist in the School of Computing and Informatics with a strong academic foundation in Computing, Information Systems, and Emerging Technologies. He holds a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Kenyatta University, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (IT), and a Diploma in Information Technology (IT) from Mount Kenya University.
Peter has pursued extensive professional development, earning industry-recognized certifications from globally respected technology organizations. These include Google IT Support, Microsoft Python Development, IBM and IBM SkillsBuild Certifications; AI Fundamentals, Data Fundamentals, and Databases as well as Anthropic’s; Claude Code, AI Fluency, among others.
He is a registered member of the Computer Society of Kenya (CSK) and has actively participated in academic development programs: including the MATLAB Expo at MathWorks, Kenyatta University–Carnegie Workshops, and a Pedagogy training at Karatina University. He also participated in the Huawei ICT Competition at the national level.
Peter’s research interests focus on Information Systems, Edge Computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Applied Artificial Intelligence; with an emphasis on leveraging technology to enhance organizational efficiency and support informed decision-making.
