Biography

Dr. Hellen M. Ndegwa (PhD, LIS) is a dedicated scholar and lecturer in the School of Computing and Informatics, Department of Informatics and Innovation at Karatina University, with over 13 years of experience in teaching and mentoring students in information sciences and knowledge management. Her academic and professional expertise spans institutional repositories, digital preservation, collection development, research methods, information literacy, community informatics, cataloguing, web-based information retrieval systems, and indexing. She has contributed to curriculum development and the integration of emerging technologies into teaching, ensuring that learners acquire practical competencies aligned with contemporary digital information environments. She is passionate about advancing equitable access to knowledge through innovative digital solutions and community-centered information services that support education, research, and development. Her work reflects a strong commitment to improving information management practices and empowering communities through the strategic use of information and communication technologies.
