Muchunku Kawira is a Tutorial Fellow in the Department of Computing, School of Computing and Informatics. She has research interests in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics. Beyond academia, she is passionate about leadership and community impact, having founded Dada STEM, an initiative that promotes gender inclusivity in STEM fields, and Brighten A Soul Foundation, which has positively impacted more than 9,500 Kenyans.
Her contributions to technology and STEM have earned her numerous accolades, including being a 2023 Zuri Awards Honoree in the STEM Category and a nominee for the Africa Women Changemaker/Impact Award for Empowering Girls in Tech, among several other awards and nominations. Her leadership journey has also seen her recognized as a Top 10 Finalist in Ms President Season 2 and the Ms President for Tharaka Nithi County in both Season 1 and Season 2.
