Doctor Tom Ouna is a Lecturer in the School of Education and Social Sciences at Kaaratina University where he has been a faculty member since 2017. He has been the coordinator of Geography Courses in between 2020–2023 and specializes in both Physical Geography and Geotechnologies of GIS, Remote Sensing and Cartography. Tom completed his Ph.D. (Geography), Masters in Environmental Planning and Management and Bachelor of Education at Nairobi University. His research interests lie in modelling environmental and climatic changes and planning and management of adoption and mitigation measures. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of livestock, agriculture, forestry and water. He has also worked with some regional and international organizations in Eastern Africa.
Dr. Ouna serves in a panel of experts for a Kenya government World-Bank project . He is a registered and practicing Lead expert in Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit with National Environmental Management Authority where he serves in its Technical Committees. Tom has long-term experience in offering GIS and Remote Sensing Trainings and management of donor-funded projects.
